Dog brushing question....?

I have miss places my dogs brush and I was wondering of I can just use a regular comb on him. He is long fur. I have always used a dog brush from Petsmart and never a regular one so would regular comb from the store work? I have like 10 brushes and Combs for myself that I can use one on him but the brushes I had for him we're wire and the ones I have for me are plastic. So would it be okay? Or should I just wait to brush him until tomorrow when I can get to the pet store.

A comb will work fine; in fact, a comb is fantastic to get knots and tangles out where a brush would just brush over them.

Dog combs have more rounded teeth than human combs, so unless you can be very gentle and careful, I wouldn't use a human comb. For one day, you can probably get by with a human brush but it probably won't work as well as the one made for his hair type. Go ahead and try it and get a new brush tomorrow.

Yes you can use your comb on him, I would probably throw it away afterwords. When you go to the pet store, look into the Furminator. It's a great grooming tool, and they have them for dogs with long hair. Hope this helps :)
