You can't always make lemonade when life hands you lemons, because you need more than just the lemon. Lemonade is made up of lemon juice, water, and sugar. The water weakens the lemon juice, and the sugar makes it less bitter/sour, and more pleasant to swallow.

If you don't have the means to make something better with what you've got, either juice the lemons or leave them there. Do not plant a tree. (It will just grow into more bitter/sour lemons! Lol)

Not necessarily, if you feel like making lemonade then make lemonade, but there are a variety of things you can do with lemons beyond lemonade. Lemon cookies perhaps or lemon glaze on top of a pie or cake. You can zest the peel to create more lemony awesomeness.
