What was the inspiration for the Chevrolet SSR?

Except for the front fenders and quarter panels designed after the 1947 - 1953 "Advanced Design Chevy" line of pickups, the rest of the SSR is based completely on a concept car shown at the 2000 Detroit Auto Show called the Super Sport Roadster, thus SSR.
