I want to wear a tux to prom?
I don't think I can get myself to wear a dress. I just hate it. I want to be comfortable. I feel terrible though, and I don't know how to ask my mom to help rent me a tux and not a dress. I'm her only daughter and I have an older brother. I feel bad because I know she'd love helping me find a dress. I was at a store once too and I asked if I could go to the guys section and she snapped at me. >.< I don't know what to do!?

Ask her to sit down, and ask her to seriously hear you out. Tell her how you want to go to prom feeling comfortable, and that a dress just isn't gonna do that for you. If she says no, but adds that you will look like a boy, then tell her that it is possible for a girl to look good in a tux, and show her pictures to prove it (Carrie Underwood, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian, Beyonce... it's all on the web). Tell her that this is YOUR night, and YOU want to be as happy as possible, and that wearing something other than a dress will make YOU happy. If you stand out, then that's what YOU want for YOUR special night. Be YOURSELF.
By the way, if your mom actually lets you go through with this, exactly how do you want to look?

Dont wear a tux omg if you want to be viewed as a girl wear a dress or something unless u want to be viewed as a guy! come one girly :p
