Hey Jack, This is Emma. I am the Product Education Manager for Vega, and a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. I would love to help make sure you have the right product and nutrition selected for your sport.

I recommend the Pre-Workout Energizer for a workouts that are more intense or of longer duration. It's also great for early morning workouts! I take mine as a power shot (2 oz of water, a thick shot) before morning runs. It's a blend of high and low glycemic index carbohydrates for immediate and sustained energy. You will likely notice the (natural) stimulants, such as green tea and yerba mate, as they can help to increase focus and mental clarity. I call them my "motivational sparkplug".

If your workout is of shorter duration, and lower intensity (i.e. a hatha yoga class, or a 30 minute power walk) fresh or dried fruits will likely do the trick! You could add a Vega Sport Electrolyte Hydrator before or during though to make sure you replenish electrolytes which become depleted through any form of exercise. When depleted, they affect your motor control and muscle function.

The Recovery Accelerator is best when used within 20 minutes of training, and again, like the Energizer is best for more intense, or duration based workouts. I also recommend it for the beginning of anew workout program, as the carbohydrate to protein ratio (4:1) supports reduced muscle stiffness and soreness as a result of glycogen depletion during more challenging workouts.
