How do I apply for unemployment compensation?

How does one apply for unemployment benefits? Quite naturally, I know that you go 'in person,' which implies 'actively seeking work' and apply for said work. I know that you can't just telephone employers or apply for work through employment services, online.

They first must have had to worked a permanent job for at least 6 months to a year, get laid off or fired. You cannot walk off a job and get unemployment.

Go to your local Work Source/ Employment Office and they will show you what forms you need to fill out for unemployment work compensation.
