A polynomial is sum or difference of two or more monomials. Each monomial is called a term of the poynomial. A term must have a variable, so A and B cannot be the answer since they have no variable. D is a monomial, and C is a binomial.

A polynomial is an expression in which a variable exists. That is, an infinite number of values are possible when plotted on a chart. In your question, choices A and B would not be polynomials - they are simply constants. Choices C and D, however, obey this definition. Graphically, y + 1 and 12xe, can be charted on a graph for a number of x-values.

The "poly" in polynomial, comes from the Greek, meaning "many".

In mathematics, it is used for an expression that has more than one term (terms are separated by + or - signs)

If there is only one term, then it is a monomial (mono = one)

Some people will still use binomial (bi = 2) for expressions with two terms (e.g. 2y + 4)

    and trinomial for expressions with three terms (tri = 3), for example (3x^2 - 2x + 7)

binomials and trinomials are part of the polynomials.

As soon as there is more than one term, you are allowed to use "poly" (many)

a million. rewritten is -6y-2 the premier coefficient is -6 and the degree is a million (degree is the optimal exponent.) 2. -2h^2+2h^4-h^6 rewritten -h^6+2h^4-2h^2 degree: 6 premier coefficient : -a million 3. degree 4 4. c fairly particular thats wonderful

    if there's a letter in front of +2 in choice A, it's B

    otherwise it's both A and B.
