How can pregnant wife avoid alcohol during the holidays without suspicion?

My wife and I just found out we're pregnant yesterday with our 2nd child. Our families keep a close eye on my wife's drinking habits, and whenever she doesn't drink at a family get together, they assume she's pregnant. It's way too early for us to be telling people. Any tips to make it through the holidays without letting everyone find out we're pregnant? Everyone knows my wife does not refuse alcohol when she's not pregnant.

im in the same position as your wife, i drink vodka and 7 so i just remove the vodka. oh oh it just came to me. they sell non alcoholic wine, just tell everyone you got it for a gift and bring a few bottles ( change or buy new labels if need be) and drink away. happy holidays.

Source(s): i have tried the no alcohol wine and its not bad.

Make her a cocktail: This is how my man helps me

I will have a sprite and 'vodka' cocktail, which is white, with a cherry or two in, that makes it a pretty pink colour :-) Add an umbrella and straw if you want to take it a step further! Except he never puts any vodka in. Take your own Sprite and bottle of Vodka, be a gentleman and always pour her a drink, never let anyone else offer her a drink, she must always be busy sipping on the one YOU poured for her.

If you work together you could pull it off easily! And if anyone wants the same cocktail, you pour them the Vodka cocktail, that way, the bottle gets emptier, but she never has any herself, sharing is caring, and a great distraction :-)

    GL and have fun!!

Well, I guess that you can't escape suspicion :) but you can go with the story that she is sick-stomach bug, or that that doctor ordered her to avoid alcohol completely because she has elevanted triglicerids in blood (cholesterol)...go with the story which would be least suspicious for the family.

She's on an antibiotic for a cyst..no alcohol allowed ! If the busy-bodies ask where's the cyst.. tell them they don't want to know !!

Congratulations to you both , have a great Christmas.
