Yeah, I guess throwing grenades at people, slicing throats & using various sorts of guns to acheive objectives in RPG games like the , "Call of Duty" Franchise, might make a person a more inclined to be violent. But there has to be something else going on there as well, because the gaming industry is a multi-billion dollar one, and I can't imagine that most ( or even half ) of the people who play violent video games ( Mortal Kombat [ fatalities include ripping your opponents head off as a finishing move ] , COD etc ) end up commiting heinous acts
In an interview, Morgan Freeman suggested that people who do those sorts of acts want to become famous , so on some level it's mental illness ( usually in *cough*WHITEPPL*cough*) , part of it is that America as a whole is a violent culture ( movies , tv shows , you name it ) and part of it is that the media sensationalizes these people. Some idiot reporter was even like , "The attacker was said to be a genius, a technological wiz" ( So because he is supposedly "smart", that justifies his murders? )

no. using that logic i should be out some where tryin' to drop 1000 lbs acme weights on rabbits. if that really is the case than parents have been taking a far too lax approach to parenting. this is happening i think mostly due to kids bein' made untouchable in society. ya can't yell at 'im, ya can hardly talk sternly at one without some putz tryin' to start a lecture about abuse. back in the day it was the kids fault for gettin' bad grades, now that blame has shifted to the teacher. society is out of balance and the kids are starting to show that, show kids that there are real consequences to pay and MAYBE this might dry up in a few years. if not, don't be shocked when more starts to happen.

No. Normal people can separate fiction from reality, whatever form this fiction takes.
The real issue is how our country blatantly ignored the mental conditions that plague our youth.
I heard the little psycho who killed those kids was all sad because his patents had a divorce. Oh boo hoo for him. Thousands of kids go through divorce. And there are people like me who literally have no relationship at all with either their mother or their father. We aren't violent as a result.
He had a mental disorder. A brain malfunction. He needed treatment. Or he needed to be locked in a room with padded walls. He had no business being at a gun range with an assault rifle. Wtf

Yes... Because Wii Sports makes me want to kill someone... *Sarcasm*
Source(s): Perhaps you are referring to games such as: Call of Duty Assassin's Creed Grand Theft Auto Need for speed Halo Street fighter Tekken Because even then, I'm sure many can distinguish acceptable behaviour from unacceptable behaviour... - Anonymous8 years ago
