Is it worth playing Mass Effect 1?
I got ME1 for the xbox 360 forever and half ago, and I just never got into it. The controls for any of the vehicle runs were annoying as heck (plus it was glitching and freezing a lot and I had to save like a paranoid maniac so I wouldn't lose anything.)
Then, one of my friends got me ME2 for my birthday. I've just finished playing through it, I did it in like 6 sittings, it was absolutely fabulous! One of the best gaming experiences of my life!
But now I'm contemplating if it's worth struggling through the awful mechanics of ME1 so I can have an import character (cause I really wanna get ME3 at some point!).
So, what do you think?

Totally worth playing ME1. You may not have thought much, but I heavily enjoyed my experience with this first in the series. And the choices you make in it do have a significant impact on future developments, in both ME2 and ME3...actually, make that just ME2.

Yes, the story is great and is worth playing. All the mass effect games play into each other very great. The things you do in ME1&2 play out in ME3.

Play Mass Effect 1 BEFORE Mass Effect 2 and 3. Once you play the 2nd and 3rd one, the first Mass Effect feels like garbage. The story is great but the gameplay compared to ME2 and 3 is bad.
