Honestly, I'd be kind of pissed that with all the other seats empty you sat next to me. Especially with me being in the "inside seat", I'd have to wonder you were planning on mugging me or something.

Yes, there would be no good reason for a stranger to go sit by the only occupant on the bus.

No, last time I was on a train it was about 1am and just me and one other guy, so we sat together and talked. Sure he could be a madman, but most likely he's not.
