Yes, the mother bought the gun legally. Yes, like so many other gun owners she was killed with it by her own son. I actually would be more in favor of banning high capacity clips or magazines. However, all what you are saying proves, is that the ban or previous bans were not comprehensive enough, if they still allowed a lot of weapons that people would like to get out of the hands of the public.
