No, the world is not going to end. You'd have to believe a biblical B.S. to think that anyways.

The mayan's calender is based on a wheel system, like how your odometer in your car works. As you count out the days on the center circle, when you get back to the top, you move to indicating the next circle. The calender is made up of several of the circles, and this is the 13th calender of the type that the Mayan's made, before they disappeared.

Edit: I might have the circles wrong, you might start on the outer one and count your way inside.

Know how in January every year you have to go buy a new paper calender? Well the Mayan calender is more like a large stack of 50 calenders, and if they hadn't disappeared, then they'd have made a new one to start December 27th on.
