Why do we pass laws based on emotions?

Emotions are running high after children were gunned down in Ct. Now is not the time to be debating gun laws. When we pass laws based on emotional reactions we end up with things like the patriot act, NDAA, and we end up in wars we don't need to fight. (note Iraq).

Why not let cooler heads prevail and debate gun laws when emotions are not running in high gear?

Prop 8! Constitutional replace to limit flag burning! bypass a regulation that makes enforcing Sharia regulation unlawful (even nonetheless it particularly is already provided for by using the corporation Clause)! No male-lady cohabitation between single couples (Florida - human beings have been charged with it final year)! No advertising alcohol on Sundays! Conservatives are on no grounds to whinge approximately legislating "ethical" matters consistent with emotional judgments.

    Libs run on emotion.

And the Democrats have been waiting for the opportunity to go after the guns. This event has given it to them.

Supposedly Fast and Furious was an effort to create that opportunity (which backfired).

Hyenas are always able to stampede the sheep. It takes the sheep dogs to run the flock, chase off the hyenas and calm the flock down.

Otherwise we get ran right off the cliff.

Because everyone feels helpless. There is a group of people that think government is there to solve all their problems regardless of cost. There are many that are anti gun and don't want to let a crisis go to waste.

Because we are emotional beings and politicians like to prey on that emotion for their political gain.

Democrats do. Look at the ACA. 2700 pages to say it is not legal to refuse medical insurance to people with pre existing conditions. They hid behind closed doors for weeks to see how badly they could screw over the seniors.

Emotional laws are selfish because they just make the progressive liberal FEEL better.
