Depends on your hair, here are some options to try out...
(does not matter in you have a wand, I don't)
1) curl like normal, except instead of curling the hair around the curler really tight, make it stretch down the iron if that makes sense...not all bunched up. Curl all of head, cool, then flip upside down a few times to loosen and mix curls:)
2) curl like normal, then hold hair straight once off the curler briefly (or longer if your hair needs it). like before, flip hair upside down when done curling all of your head:)
3) curl bigger sections! (don't forget to flip!)
Sometime i just curl it and it looks a bit tight so ill hairspray while squishing my hair straight really briefly, or let it loosen on its own. Often if i sleep on it it will be wavy the second day if i had it curly the first.
Source(s): I love to curl my hair and look up videos on YouTube about it! - 8 years ago
It's pretty hard to get those types of curls. What I recommend is a wand curler. Of course, if you don't want to spend money, you can use a normal curler and basically wrap your hair in that spiral shape that you want. It takes a lot of time and its really hard to explain. But, there's actually plenty of YouTube tutorials on it.
Hope this helps!
