Hair question , what would look best?

right now hair is very faded light brown color.

i want to get like platinum highlights again but should i dye it light brown and get the light blonde highlights or just get highlights and lowlights? what would look/work out better??

i had dyed my hair brown over blonde with semi perm dye then went and got light light blonde highlights but they were too thin and unnoticeable, it also faded very fast as it was not permanent! so im gonna spring and do it right this time but dunno what would be best !

right now it is a light faded brown and sometimes look kinda reddish, i just need to have brown in cause im really tired of just plain blonde!
