Why shouldn't the assets of the mother of the Newtown shooter be sold off?

and the money donated to the victims as she was solely responsible by leaving HER weapons accessible to a mentally compromised person.

Update:

If you allowed access to your vehicle to someone who you KNEW was drunk and they killed someone, I guarantee a lawsuit would soon follow. I know if it were my wife, daughter, etc that was killed or maimed, I would be looking for a lawyer.. Anyone see the parallels?

Update 2:

Do they not sell gun safes up north? Easy to lock them up away from people you don't want to have them without your supervision. House worth 1.5 mil and can't afford a place to secure your weapons? Worth your life? Hardly.

Update 3:

Ryan, the son who would not claim her body at the morgue?

There would first have to be a Court finding of liability on her part and a civil judgment against her. Then it can be collected on by the parties to the law suit. Long, hard, emotional road for the plaintiffs.

  • He wasn't mentally compromised. He was an evil little Satan worshiper. His website was dedicated to Satan. He premeditated the murders and stole the guns to commit them with. Her assets should go to whoever she willed them to but unfortunately the U.S. government is going to take at least 35% and is set to raise the amount.

because she is just as much a victim as they are. She didn't just hand over her guns he shot her while she slept. I'm pretty sure that she wouldn't have let him walk out the door with her guns and commit this horror.

Because her son Ryan is her legal heir

Because she has rights too. Her son committed the crime, not her...in legal terms that is.
