What is this Sickness Going Around?

I Live in the East Coast of the US and Everyone i know is getting Sick, i even have some freinds in the UK who also seem to be getting similar symptoms. Anyone know what this is?

    I live in the UK and my sister has just become very ill, shes always sleepy, feels sick, warm, flu like? The doctor didn't really know what it was and just gave her antibiotics. I'm not sure if its the same thing, but it seems worrying.

    Probably seasonal flu.
