There was no such case involving Fox News Channel.

There was a case years ago involving a local Fox affiliate (the network of Homer Simpson, not Bill O'Reilly) that was sued by two former local news reporters under a Florida state whistleblower statute because the station didn't run the story that they put together. The case was dismissed because the whistleblower statute only applies if an employer is engaged in a criminal activity, and not running a story -- or even lying about the content of a story -- isn't criminal.

Over the years, that has evolved into "Fox News Channel went to court for the right to lie." But it's not true. It wasn't Fox News, and that wasn't what the case was about.

Did MSNBC tell you about this "story" by any chance?
