Why do we cry when we're sad?

I'm just asking this out of curiousity :) I'm not very science-y so I'd like it if you could explain it in a simple kind of way :3 also why do people laugh when people say something funny, and why do we get goosebumps when we're scared (or sometimes when there's an emotional piece of music?)

Thank youuuu:)

in my opinion we cry to relieve stress and a way for your body to tell you you've had enough you need a break. laughing makes people feel good it makes the body send out happy signals. and for the goosebumps i believe that its a way of saying hey this song connects with your body. but that's all in my opinion.

all in all it help in every way with emotions.
