Do I have a mental illness?
So i've been cutting myself for the past 2 months , but i stopped cutting like a week and a half ago. but i feel like i have to cut to make myself feel happy. i'm trying my hardest not to, and i haven't been doing for a week and a half, but i feel like i have to even though i don't want to. :/

People cut for a number of reasons. Among them is the endorphin high. Endorphens are chemicals released in the body to help cope with pain and stress. For many, they relieve feelings of depression/emotional pain. (Science! Haha!)
Other activities, like strenuous running, can have the same effect.
You may have a mild depressive disorder that needs looking at but you're not insane for having cut. Many people do it and don't know why. The depression is very treatable.

That makes sense because before that was the only way to let go of the pain now you need another outlet. Find something you love to do. For me it is sining and listening to music and running. Running is a great stress reliever for most people but some people really hate it so it might not before you. If you want/ need to talk me email me at 98erunnergirl@gmail.com
