when e-filing my taxes do i need to send my 1099r?
Am a military retiree, this will be my first time filing my taxes using e-file.
I live abroad, but I still file taxes every year, and so can I e-file my taxes on line
this year even though I live abroad, and I have my information on taxes paid
from dfas my pay,1099r, so when e filing do I just state how much taxes I paid for the year
or do I have to send e file or irs a copy of my 1099r, or is that done automatically by my pay
provider.Thank you for your help.

No, just be sure that the numbers you enter match the 1099r. The IRS will get a copy too from your pay provider.

When you e-file, you don't have to send in copies of the source documents (W-2, 1099s, etc.) unless the IRS specifically asks you to do so (which is extremely rare). The agency that handles your retirement pay sends a copy of the 1099-R to the IRS. Just keep them with your records.

when e filing you don't include any of the wage statements or 1099's, you actually create them in the program so you need them in front of you
if you file manually if income tax was withheld, yes, you would include a copy of the 1099R

you're required to document in case you meet the filing criteria. It doesnt count number in case you get a reimbursement or pay. The state doesnt recognize what your deductions are. each so often people get a reimbursement from federal and nevertheless could pay state. when you're due a reimbursement there is basically not a penalty.
