Back Handspring Help?

So my best friend and I are so close to getting our Back Handsprings. The only problem is that well

Me- either I'm tight but not fast enough or I'm fast but not tight.

My bewstie/sister- Her legs fly to the sides open and/or she's in like a pike when she's doing her Back Handsprings.

Can anyone help us please?!

    pretend you guys are trapped in a narrow tube and your as tight as you can be to give your self more room, push off your legs to go faster and your shoulders too. i had that problem too and my coach said to do a handstand block which was to go into a handstand and push off your shoulders back down or you can make a hop forward but however dont expect to get it the first try, try it with a spotter first and for your friend try the thinking of the narrow tube and tell her to extend her legs
