Nervous about reading in front of class?
Every day in my English class a student has to go to the front of the class and read a section of a book that they're reading for a minute. Everyone has their own days to go up and today was my turn. I HATE doing stuff like speeches and presentations. Every since 7th grade, one of my friends always made fun of me every time I had to do a speech. He's no longer a friend but he always made me turn red and I always got really embarrassed. So today was my turn to read and I got so nervous I just rescheduled it to this Friday. Is there anything I can do to make the nervousness go away or at least just make myself a little more confident? I'm thinking about staying home that day so I don't have to do it.

Just try to remember that after high school all of this stuff wont matter, just go up there say what you have to say, earn your credit and sit down. 60 seconds is not a long time if anyone makes fun of you just stare at them and shake your head for like a good three seconds then keep on doing what you were doing, I do it all the time, it makes the kid feel stupid. Oh and maybe try to think of something funny before you go up making yourself laugh always breaks the tension a little bit.
