Vector drawing software like Adobe Illustrator, Web software like Dreamweaver, and font management software is important, because typography is critical to graphic design.
If you are freelancing, this site has some good info:

Software like Lightroom or Corel's AfterShot Pro to batch process images would be nice to have. If you plan on producing a large number of videos, titling software or a titling plugin for the video editor you already have is a necessity. Take a good, close look at commercials and you'll notice that they are nothing but 15s and 30s narrated animated titles:-) They are nothing but images (still and animated), text in all its various forms and voice-over. Video special effects software like After Effects or Hitfilm is good to have if you want to specialize in video special effects. Designers I know also have subscriptions to one or more stock image sites. Graphic designers are specialists. Some stick closely to photos, other do commercial lines of products (advertising campaigns) and some are into videos and/or animation. Since it takes time to become a skilled (professional) user of the software, no one person can be competent with every program.
