Will this get me either a flat stomach or more clearly defined abs? Advice and recommendations are appreciated?

Ok, I asked a question a while ago, about ab workouts to try and get me either a flatter/more toned stomach, or more clearly defined abs, but all I got was one guy telling me to do something I had made it clear I couldn't do.

So, my goal is pretty simple, I was either a flatter or more toned stomach, and slightly more defined abs. I'm a male, and I'm turning 15 in a few days, by the way.

I don't have a huge amount of time or money to sink into this, and it's not an urgent thing, but I have school holidays now, about a month, and I don't think it's too ambitious to expect some results, no matter how minor, by the end of that time.

Every day, I've been doing this at least once for a few days:

-1 minute of crunches

-a plank on my left side, until I start to wobble (these are more like rest exercises)

-1 minute of bicycle crunches

-a plank on the other side until I start to wobble

So I do that every day, sometimes twice (once in the morning, once at night), is it helping at all? Am I wasting my time? Will it even have any effect?

If that doesn't help, what do you suggest? Also, I don't want this workout to take more than 3-5 minutes if I can help it, I just don't have a huge amount of time. 3-5 minutes is ideal for me, because I can keep myself motivated to do it every day at least once.

So, advice? Recommendations? Etc?

Thanks.

Also, I know that it will take time to get results, but I can wait. I don't really want to be ripped, with a 6 pack, I just want to feel a little better when I'm at the beach or a pool, without a shirt. Also, there's this girl...

But thanks guys. And please no "abs are made in the kitchen". That's really not helpful.

Update:

Oh, yeah, I actually knew about the cardio thing. For a few months now (before I started this workout) I've been going jogging every night I can, which is normally 6/7 days a week (sometimes more).

I've got the cardio part happening, but it's easier to see the sun, than it is to see a torch. The cardio part is coming along well (I might step it up though, I haven't pushed myself as much as I probably could) but shouldn't I do some sort of ab workout?

Tighter eh? Sounds like you have to work on the Transverse Abdominus, the muscle groups which pull your belly discipline in. Look up the "Plank". Research some basic pilates strikes which center of attention on the abs. And most importantly, PAY attention TO YOUR POSTURE. You handiest endeavor a little bit on a daily basis, nevertheless you're sitting or standing for giant durations of time. Look up material on proper posture, and be certain to continuously check your posture in the course of the day - be definite to preserve your abs sucked in! As for food plan, fats is lost most commonly for the duration of the physique. So there's no method to lose fats *just* over the abs. Nonetheless should you lose fat normally, your abs will customarily seem better.

you're not going to get abs by doing those exercises. you need to do some real weightlifting along with cardio. that why you can lower your body fat enough to actually see your abs. you cant see your abs because you have fat over them, and the only way to get rid of that fat is to weightlift+cardio+diet. the "abs are made in the kitchen" quote is quite true though
