If you believe the world is ending on 21 December, how will this work?

I'm curious as to whether you think the world will end all at once (so the time of day will depend on where you are on earth) or believe that as the sun rises on you (or some other solar-linked time), your world will end, or what?

Just thinking how weird it will be along the International Date Line if it's at sunrise or similar - presumably, shuffling to an island to the east will give you an extra day..... And wondering whether it will be possible to ensure that EVERYONE is experiencing the 21st, with no few people having the world end on the 20th or 22nd.

Update:

I should point out that I think the whole thing is a load of utter poppycock, based on two absurd notions: (a) that the Mayan long count calendar was a predictive tool, which it wasn't - it was a calendar, with an end date much like our 2012 calendars end on 31 December, after which things start again and (b) the idea that people hundreds of years ago were somehow wiser, more 'in touch' with some grand plan than we are.

But I am really curious as to what the believers think will happen. These practicalities don't seem to have entered in to their apocalyptic writings...

For that subset of human beings who will breathe their last on 12/21/2012 it will be their personal "end of the world" as far as their finite existence.

They will have a heart-stopping event or the medical support - life support will be withdrawn due to "brain death" -- it will be a sad day for the survivors and especially their dependents -- that's what life is all about though.

We are finite and quite fragile -- no one will live forever; just as the universe began with a big bang, it will have an conclusion and culmination

havent got a clue and am not afraid of the world ending either, If it happens it happens but I doubt if there is any truth in anything they say. I always believed if the world ends it will be because our Saviour Christ Jesus will return with His angels, as all eyes will see Him, but He will return and set His foot on Mount Olive in Israel as then the whole world will have turned against Israel and He the Lord Himself will fight for Israel

I don't know (and of course do not believe it) but I am enjoying the doomsday shows on the History channel. Those "scholars" who are wrong should go back on the History channel after Dec 21 and apologize for being chicken littles LOL
