How do I make a strong homemade wet cell battery?AP CHEM.?

I'm trying to get 3 plus voltage. I want to use homemade material only.

    use strips of zinc and copper in an acid solution (battery acid)

    You will need to link 2 such cells as the most voltage you will get from one is about 1.5V
