Are Republicans or Democrats taking America over the fiscal cliff?
Boehner doesn't want a deal that will hurt his rich friends so clearly Republicans want to hurt America because we elected a black President 2 times.

Boehner is offering the same plan Romney did that we voted against in November. Apparently, the Tea Party doesn't think they lost the election.

Democrats. Obama said just yesterday that he won't compromise. Therein lies the problem. He won't compromise and he believes, like so many Democrats, that getting 50% of the vote is a mandate and he, therefore, has the support of the majority of Americans for this. Boehner already said we can do what Obama insisted was enough last year, but now it's not enough. He's willing to raise taxes on the rich--more reasonably--those who make a million a year or more--same as the UK, which didn't work out so well,--but Obama isn't satisfied. He's not willing to compromise even a little to make sure the middle class doesn't have to pay higher taxes. He wants to go over the cliff. Meanwhile, Republicans are going to be blamed whether we go over or not, so what's the point of caving?
My but you ARE a racist. Shame.

Clearly the democrats are the ones taking us over the cliff. I believe Boehner was very smart he handed there own deal they rejected it. That clearly shows democrats want to go over the cliff.

The monetary cliff isn't a project which formed itself, nor did it basically look out of nowhere. If it were not for the blended incompetence of both the Democrats and the Republicans in the course of the former few years, there will be no monetary cliff. in the adventure that they did not see it coming, they teach themselves incompetent. in the adventure that they did see it coming, then they have waited till it has reached disaster mode earlier taking action, nevertheless proving themselves incompetent. no matter if Democrat or Republican, those are those who we despatched to Washington to signify us and see to our greatest hobbies. both have failed us.

Its not all the speakers fault. The president needs to stop protecting entitlements and start negotiating he wants to cut our defense but I can guarantee you if he cut certain areas of Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security we would be able to get out of this debt. I think the retirement age needs to be raised to 68 because there are still seniors I see who still work full time or part time. There needs to be some sort of give and take here.

Brain dead sheep, Obama , Obama, obama
Jobs are created by the rich (movie stars are workers) rich are people who make businesses and are able to have them runned by CEOs or mangers. Those mangers hire the workers to keep it functioning.
When you tax the "rich" aka as the business the owner "rich" has to tell the CEO or managers to cut jobs and benefits or pay to stay afloat. They also pass taxes and fees, regulations onto the consumers as price increases. Which in turn creates less money for workers and cripples the economic growth and tax revenue.
So when Kenyan Obama says he wants to tax, fine, regulate, and ban rich, oil, coal, guns. What he is really saying is he wants to destroy American way of life and it's self-reliance
The problem is Obama and the democrats

"It would hurt the credit rating of the U.S. and suddenly we would pay 5-8% on 16 trillion dollars we owe instead of the 1.5% we currently pay. The only real way to avoid the fiscal cliff is by drastically eliminating the size of government.
Every year we accumulate about 1 trillion dollars of debt. The Republicans want to cut about 200 billion from that pending deficit so our entire debt at the end of 2013 will be 16.8 trillion. The Democrats don't want to cut anything. In some cases they actually want to spend more than the projected 1 trillion."

Any compromise has to be both people's fault, so any failure to compromise is both sides fault as well. That being said, I think the Democrats are doing far more to try and reach a compromise. The GOP seems to be trying to break the economy again so they can blame Obama for it, just like they did last time we had budget discussions.

Obama wants to target successful people. Many of whom are small business owners. So tax all or don't tax all .. but do it fairly. Just because a person can pay more doesn't mean they should pay more.

Obama is going on another taxpayer funded Hawaiian vacation, it's not his concern what happens to America.
