How can we force Mexico to release Jon Hammar?
He was planning on driving from the USA to Costa Rica. He had his grandfather's antique shotgun. He filled out the necessary forms in the USA border checkpoint, went across to the Mexico checkpoint with his paperwork and was arrested. He is being held in a prison, chained to his bed, beaten, his life threatened.
Our President is doing NOTHING. A few legislators are finally starting make some noise, but very little. This is a former US Marine who served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He was there for us. What can we do for him?
re a bribe: His parents were contacted by the prison to pay a ransom, but they told the State Dept, who contacted the Mexican authorities, and the prison didn't call back with how to pay the ransom. They are willing to pay for their son, but to whom, and how?

If i was president i would send a unit of very pissed off marines in there, after all the prison he is located at is only 15 miles from the border.

A friend of mine uncle was president of Mexico and the police arrested his American wife. He offered the police $100 and they refused so he called his uncle and was given a card and she was released. So all it would take is one phone call.
Obama could just say release him or we send back 1000 Mexican drug dealers in America or give him a million

The president should get involved. Talk to Mexico's new president and explain to him that no release equals no money from the U.S. We give them Millions just like other countries. They want the money in the future, they better release him immediately.

Sounds like you need to start a campaign and/or protest getting as many people involved as possible untill the right people take notice and actually do something.

We need to pray for his release. Peter the Apostle was put in jail and the Church prayed for him and an angel broke him out.
