What are polo wraps used for????????????

A lot of people use polo wraps for "support", but really they don't provide support at all, except maybe a little compression support. They are used either on polo horses or as excercise bandages for training/schooling a horse, and they do provide a little compression and protection against "brushing" (one leg brushing against the other). It's a protection thing, though for most instances, you are better with sports medicine boots for protection. I use Iconoclast support boots because they were recommended by my vet because they actually do support the suspensory tendon. I use these on the front legs and then Back on Track polo wraps on the hind legs when I school.

So...a polo wrap is just used for protection during a polo match or protection during schooling and training, but they aren't the best thing for support. They are not used for wrapping for "warmth", they are not to be used over pillow wraps for standing wraps (use the proper stable bandages for this), and they are not meant to be left on when a horse is unattended, because they can come un-velcroed and get tangled, causing harm to the tendons and the the horse in general.

To support and protect the legs of polo horses during matches and games. As if that wasn't obvious from their name.

use them for workouts- jumping mainly but also good for any kind of work out, i use them for lunging and polework and such

use to protect the horse from banging her legs- jumping and poles and i use mine for trailer trips-i dont have shipping boots and my horse doesnt really need any but i sometimes put them on her just in case :)

i also use mine to keep her clean! the night b4 a show i wrap up her white leg to keep it clean :)

so yea thats what they are used for :)

they are used for suport in your horses legs ,people use them for barrel racing , and jumping. but make shure you know how to use them corectly cause you can screw up their tendons .you can also use them for regular excersise just dont leave them in the pasture with them on . *:-)

Be more specific please they have one to keep horses warm for weather like this
