need to know about cleaning battery compartment on golf cart?

just purchased an older model golf cart , it was used on the river in

a campground area. it was sandy and muddy. it is a 36v with 6 batteries

and 1 extra battery that runs the lights. it looks really dirty in that battery

area and under the cart. will it be ok to use a pressure washer in the battery

area or is there something i should be careful not to get wet? i know they get wet

on the course but i dont want to ruin anything in the electrical system.

rigidity washer possibly won't harm. carbonated soda will fizz countless the gunk off. and a cord brush is stable for cleansing connections. watering off with a hose is stable cosmetics.
