Can I get cash back at walmart for something I wrote a check for?

I bought something at wal mart (not important as to what it is i know the return policy for merchndise) for around $30.00 and now need to return it. will i get cash back?

    Merchants usually pay refunds using the same method as the purchaser.

    If you used cash, they give you cash.

    If you used a credit card, the give a credit on your card.

    If you used a check, they send you a check in the mail.
