I need some help from some German Shepherd owners!?! :(?

I have a female german shepherd, & she seems to be catching on pretty fast to be so young. I attempted to leash train her & I got her to walking with the leash on. However, she takes a few steps then flops down & bites the leash. Any tips? Also how do I know I have earned her respect? She lies down on my feet when I'm standing, & she will sit either between my legs or at my feet. She follows me everwhere, & she gets so happy to see me when I come home!! Have I earned her trust? Also when people see her they give me the remark "she looks like a bear, that isnt a german shepherd" so can someone please tell me what you think of her she is in my profile picture

German shepherds are extremely intelligent dogs but they are also territorial dogs and by what you have describe, it would seem that she is trying to show that she views you has her property by lying down on your feets or between your legs. If it is something that bothers you, you should tell her no and show her where she can lie down. If you are okay with her doing that, then I would just let her be. The fact that she follows you is a sign that she loves you and needs your presence so again if it is something you hate, then I recommend again that you tell her no and teach her the command stay. Has for the leach biting, well many togs does this. My recommendation for that would be to tie her leash to her collar and tie the loose end of the leash so it does not slid on the floor (do this inside) this will help show her that the leash will not hurt her and this should not take long for her to get used to. Do this everyday for a few minutes and she will get used to it very fast. This is how I have always gotten my dogs to get used to the leash, its a technique I learn when training Siberian Husky for pulling sleds. The noise of the chains would scare the pups so by attaching a small part of chain on the collar got them used to the sound and feeling and showed them that the leash was not something that would hurt them. I have a male german shepherd and I have also thought him this way also and he is fine now.

Not gonna lie she doesn't lookn like a German Shepard. The flops a puppy thing. Following is a clingy thing mine Maisie does this, try not to let her do this so much, get a stronger lead, and never let her jump up on you.

    1. Her paws should never be on top of you. That means she thinks she is the boss and you are her pet.

    2. The flop down is just a puppy thing. She is testing you to see how much she can get away with.

    3. Do not let a dog follow you around. This means she has control of the house, not you. You should be able to tell her to stay, leave the room and have her stay.
