why does anyone try to assassinate anyone?

I never even knew that, but he is Jewish I am not affiliated with those groups, so I am not sure though. I have noticed another phenomenon though. I knew a lot of prejudice white men who's daughters, girlfriends, family members ect dated other races. That is a method called "divide and conquer". Ethnic men may chose to date women who's male counter parts, for lack of a better way to describe it, are prejudice or raciest. This divides up their families in the attempt to quell or suppress the racism; Old trick used for centuries, and it really isn't justifiable or right either. It's kind of another form of racism in a way, in some cases, but not all. Just a little side info for ya.

I don't think there was ever an attempt on his life, 2002, or any year. Perhaps you're getting mixed up with some film (and there were several) that had assassination attempts in them.

Really? I tried to find some information about it,and I didn't find anything about an assassination attempt. Are you confusing this with minority report? That's a movie.
