Why is nicki minaj and lil wayne trying to destroy rap.you know they suck.?

Nicki Minaj is starting to lean towards the pop music side, and I feel that her lyrics are getting stupider in every progressive song.

e.g. Starships: "Let's go to the beach, beach, I want to go to the beach"

Lil Wayne is only popular because people are following this trend, and if you don't like his music then you're not "cool." I never understand the way he speaks and the image that he gives off is very inappropriate.
