how long to leave a shock collar on during the day?

if your dog isn't completley dumb they only need to wear it a few hours a day for a few days. Once they're shocked a couple times for barking they get the idea that they arent supposed to bark so loud. I used one on a bordercollie and she figured out the first day not to bark loud... still can make little woofs but no big woofs. Once they forget training and start barking out of controll again, the collars come out. They are not meant to be a permanent collar.

throughly read the manual and have the device on the proper setting. They can be set for sensitivit to barks and degree of shock. A soft dog will only need a little shock and if you only want her to stop making big barks you would adjust the sensitivity so that she can make little woofs but will be shocked when she makes a big woof.

Its inhumane

Take off the collar and put it on yourself then shock yourself and say its not inhumane........

The dog barks becouse you leave it outside and don't bother to train it.

If its only when you go out

Just have it on when youre out
