Will my phone battery explode?

I have an android phone and the battery swelled up.

Why'd it happen?

Will the battery explode if I keep using it?

Update:

no, it isn't warm.

    Does it feel warm to the touch? If so, yes it could explode and you should replace it right away or get a new phone. Another point is that it won't actually explode, it will just start to leak its battery acids and most likely ruin your phone.

    it swelled up like a twisted ankle???????????????????????????????? ummmm yeah it might explode.... its also a factory defect if the Lithium Battery did that.....omg!!! LMAO.... get a free new battery from the store!
