Why do people think joss Wheadon is a good director (EXCULDING THE AVENGERS)?

I've watched and read everything Joss Whedon has ever done. He does a great job of mixing all of the elements (humor, drama, romance, horror, etc..) all in one package. And on top of that, his worlds are interesting to me and unique. He writes terrific dialogue and besides the story, his directing is incredible. He knows how to time things just write. There's a reason why he has so many devoted fans. Buffy and Dr. Horrible became cult hits for a reason.

But, Joss Whedon isn't for everybody. So you are perfectly entitled to your opinion.

It's a matter of taste. I respect your opinion, because that's what it is. I do enjoy his work (oddly enough, excluding The Avengers and Cabin in the Woods), but that doesn't mean everyone should. Why do I like his work? I don't know, I just find it fun. I love Firefly and Buffy is entertaining, to me. I know there are lots of people who don't care about him, though. We like him because we find that kind of thing as good film and TV. You don't like it because you don't. That's just how humanity seems to work.
