Why is my motor hesitating?

I checked the spark plugs, and they are gapped to factory spec, .0035 (It's a 1990 K1500 W/ 5.7 350). Whenever I take off from first gear, or try to accelerate, the motor acts like it's "stalling" or severely hesitating, and the truck lurches back and forth no matter what gear I'm in.

Can you help me? I think it might be my ignition, or maybe even my timing? It idles very smooth and quiet, even flawlessly. It's only when the motor is under any load.

Btw, the truck and motor only have 56,000 miles.

Thanks!

Change your fuel filter and check the fuel pump to see see if the pressure is under specs. If every thing is OK, Clean the fuel injectors. I had the same thing with my Honda Passport. I had a mechanic place it under a OMB I I had my cat convertor, MAP (not MAF) and both O2 sensors replaced.

I assume it sat for a long time with old, crappy gas in it.

Could be water in the gas, could be varnish on fuel injection parts from old gas, might be other things.

I hardly ever take spark plugs out without just putting in new ones, and I sure wouldn't put 22 year old plugs back in anything.
