can you be atheist and believe in god and celebrate christmas?

If you believe in God you aren't technically an 'atheist.' I think what you'd be better off considering yourself Agnostic or simply Doubting. It sound like you probably DO believe in God, but you don't believe in the Biblical stories or Religious mumbo jumbo. You could also think about calling yourself a DEIST. That is, you believe god exists, but HE (or SHE) doesn't take an active role in the affairs of mankind.

An atheist is someone who firmly believes that there is no higher power, so no. But it's possible to be an atheist and celebrate Christmas! I celebrate because so many family traditions center around the holiday, even though my family isn't religious. (Or, at least very much.)

That isn't atheism. If you believe in a god of any form, then you are a theist, regardless of if you follow a Christian or completely no religious viewpoint. That being said, anyone can celebrate Christmas. It was originally a pagan holiday anyway, not a Christian one.

Ok you're not atheist if you believe in god. Look it up. Atheist people DON'T BELIEVE IN ANYTHING. And I am atheist and i still and forever celebrate Christmas

Well now.....by believing in god you can not be an atheist.....because god does not exist in the mind of an atheist......God is a fake,,,,and an invisible man in the sky....that's what atheist say...atheist don't believe a god exist.because they can not see god.....so they refuse to believe god exist.........try asking a group of atheist.....and see what they say....why ask christians.......if you don't believe god exist in your mind. .....Another thing..atheist don't believe there is a heaven....so why are you asking...if you will go to heaven or hell.......because atheism is a belief.....because they believe it to be true that there is no heaven or hell.....
