** You should try drinking 8 to 16 ounces of water before each meal, this will fill you up and you will eat less, resulting in less calories at every meal. Weight loss pills are not very safe, at least water is safe. I know it may be hard at first to drink water, but you can add more and more everyday until it becomes easier, ( you will get used to it. I lost 50 pounds in three years and kept them off , I also walk for 20 minutes at least 5 times a week. Patience is needed,, if you want quick, this is not it, better to lose slowly than too fast (not healthy for your body) Well good luck too you, hope this helps.
P.S. I also think that the younger you are the faster you will lose weight, 50 years and up will take longer.

Hello ruth..
im glad to hear you have taken the first step to a more healthier/fitter life.
a good diet well i will start by saying you are going to hear loads of stories from loads of different people about what worked for them and what didnt and before you think about anything anyone says let me tell you this EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT.
ok now we have that out of the way a few tips and tricks for a diet. what your main goal is to do is have your calorie intake less than your calorie outtake confusing yes but ill explain what is means.
for example if you need 1500 calories per day to survive and you eat 1900 calories that means you will have 400 calories just sitting around which gets stored into fat BUT if its the other way around your body will need to find the extra 400 calories from somewhere else such as stored fats. so no matter what you eat you have to keep below your outtake level (you can use a search engine to find a rough idea on what yours is)
enough of the boring stuff.
a few things you need to change from the start:
1) eat 4 - 6 times a day (snack size meals)
2) drink more water (min 2L a day)
3) cut out as much processed foods/ junk food out
4) slow down on the wines beers fizzy etc.
5) try have a 20:80 carb protein diet.
ill explain which each one means.
1) the reason you are going to want to eat more often during the day is because you are going to increase you metabolism and the higher this is the faster fat will be burnt.
2) you are going to want to drink more water this is going to make sure that all your insides are working well as when you are dhydrated your blood gets thicker and slows down the calorie burning process.
3) processed foods and junk foods are bad. im sure you already know this
4) i would like to point out i wrote slow down on these as most people have a drink or 2 to just relax after a stessful day (as i do myself) but you dont want to be drinking a bottle every night.
5) this one is the most important - you will most likely hear people say dont eat carbs they are bad etc. well i need to tell you this carbs are your main energy source and with out carbs your body will fell drained all day. and high protein diet will help repair you muslces faster after your workouts.
diet i keep to and have for the past 3 years on and off is called the paleo diet aka Caveman diet you can find via google
