Why do my texts messages say they were sent yesterday?

I FIGURED OUT WHY!! I called AT&T and they said they are aware of the issue and that it's not on their end. The IT guy I spoke with encouraged me to call Pantech directly at 800-962-8622. There was a message immediately playing on their automated system explaining what happened: Due to the 2012 leap year, certain Pantech phones will display a 24 hour time error as of Dec. 21st. People receiving your text messages will have the correct date and time displayed but your phone will display the 24 hour difference. After January 1st 2013 this will no longer be a problem and your texts will have the correct time and be listed in proper order.

So all we have to do is make it to Tuesday and all will be well... hopefully.

I have the same phone and I'm having the same issue. You're right, it is annoying because texts are all out of order. I just thought it was the end of the world happening. HA. But after doing research, a lot of people are having the same problem. Calls were made to AT&T and apparently, there's a "server side issue" and "they'll fix it by later today" which means were probably stuck with these crap phones not working right. I took a phone back before for this very reason, out-of-order text threads suck.

I too have a Pantech thru AT&T. And I've been having sent texts being dated in my log as yesterday, but it appears it may be happening to only one number. Unfortunately, the number I text to most often.

So, AT&T was working on it, but it's not their problem - that means they aren't addressing it any longer. Pantech recognizes the problem and says it should self-correct on 1/1? Ha! That's to get us to stop complaining. A problem due to a leap year wouldn't suddenly appear on 12/21. It would happen on 2/29. Were all of our phones free with our contract? Hmmm, I guess you get what you pay for. And the vendor's (AT&T) hands are spotlessly clean. Never mind they are still going to hold you to a contract for using a defective piece of equipment they recommended and provided.

I'm having the same problem with the Pantech and AT&T. I turned it off and back on three times. The third time I removed the battery and then reinserted it. Still having the problem.

UPDATE: I chatted with an AT&T.representative today and he said that it is a network problem, they are working on it, and that there is currently no resolution. He stated that they don't even have a projected date/time for when the problem will be fixed. He recommended periodically turning the phone off and then self-texting.

I wish I knew the answer to this question as well. I have the Pantech Link and AT&T. Mine started occurring on the 21st of December. I have tried a master reset and that is still not fixing the solution. I hope they get this figured out soon!

I have the freaking Pantech Link too, and it's doing the same thing!! I don't know what's wrong with it, but turning it on and off doesn't work. :/ Mine actually started malfunctioning on Dec. 21, 2012 lol.

The same thing is happening to me since yesterday, and I have the same exact phone. It is annoying because I thought my texts weren't being sent, since I didn't see them in the thread, until I went back and saw they were showing as being sent yesterday.

Same problem,and I just got my pantech link yesterday.

I have the same phone and the same thing happened! If I fix it I'll edit this post and tell you how I did!

It happened to me the 21st too!

I have the same problem with the same phone which also occured on the 21st. They better fix it quickly cuz it's getting on my nerves
