CHEMISTRY QUESTION HELP?

Helium gas is removed from the cylinder and a sample of nitrogen gas n2(g) is added to the cylinder. The nitrogen gas has a volume of 125.0 ml and a pressure of 1 atm at 20 degrees celcius. Compare the number of particles in this nitrogen gas sample to the number of particles in the original helium gas sample.

    From PV = nRT, you can calculate moles of N2 gas

    n = PV/RT = (1 atm)(0.125 liters)/(0.0823 liter-atm/deg-mole)(293 deg)

    n = 0.0052 moles of N2 gas

    Since it takes 2 moles of He gas to be the same number of molecules of 1 moles of N2 (N2 is diatomic, helium in monotomic), the number of particles of He would be 0.0052 x 2 = 0.0104 particles.
