Why do conservative christians care whether or not same sex marriage is legal?

My individual opinion is I would care much less. And i am not particularly a conservative, only a conservative on some issues, and this ain't certainly one of them, so perhaps my opinion don't count. However I mainly do not need the federal govt to come to a decision. The federal govt has method to much vigor as it's. If all 50 states decided to allow and respect gay marriage, i'd be cool with that. I would alternatively see that, then the federal government make the resolution, either method. If the federal government voted to ban homosexual marriage, i'd be pissed, now not on account that they voted to ban it, i would be mad seeing that once again, they're sticking their nostril the place it don't belong. Does that make experience? I would care less about the obstacle, i am extra concerned with "who" is finding out the hassle? Anyhow, you could have a excellent day.

If marriage between homosexual couples is legalised, it doesn't change the fact that ANY form of sexual activity that takes place outside of marriage between a man and a woman is sin and brings condemnation thru Gods law.

Here is one solution, although passing it into law will be a stretch. But I mean it. Let's abolish marriage, altogether. After all, true lovers will stick it out come what may. It used to be that our word was enough. Now, we have to put it everything in writing and half the marriages still fails.

I agree with you. It's not as if straight people are going to be like, "Oh sh*t! Gay marriage just passed! Better get me some of that spicy same sex action." Nothing is really going change in their life. I do think some of the venomously opposed to same sex marriage are actually gay or bi themselves, because let's face it: if you're straight, and even of you don't "approve" of it...it does not effect your life or anyone else's...just same sex couples. Also, the world isn't going to explode if it passes. It's already legal in some states and countries, and they have yet to drop off the face of the planet. Canada, Sweden, Spain, and several other countries haven't been destroyed because same sex marriage is legal there.

As such, they honestly DO believe that the more 'legal' homosexuality becomes, the more likely they are to 'slip up'.
