Question about back anatomy?

At the risk of sounding stupid, do you have joints in your back? I was told if you have pain leaning forward its probably your joints, if you have pain leaning backward its probably your discs. What exactly are back joints?

Thank you Mr. E.

you have joints on both sides of each vertebra. they are capsular joints which will make a popping sound if the joint within is abruptly shifted. the joint surfaces are lined with smooth hyaline cartilage within a joint capsule filled with slippery synovial fluid. discs are tough fibrocartilage pads between the vertebrae which absorb shock and minimize friction. the cause of most joint problems is imbalance of the attaching muscles causing misalignment, fixation, excessive joint stress and degeneration. the muscle imbalance is usually due to nerve interference from upper neck vertebral subluxation (fixated misalignment causing cord pressure and a resulting nerve interference pattern). see an hio method chiropractor.
