How much would it cost to rent out a hotel rooftop and a suite?

For a Sweet Sixteen, I want to rent out a hotel rooftop for the party and then a room so me and my close friends can sleep after the party. I want to know approximately how much it should cost. (I'm not having this party for a while, just checking to see the range)

You can't rent a hotel room, suite, ballroom or rooftop at the age of 16. Hotels has age restrictions. Many require that a person be at least 18 in order to rent a room and check in, most require a person be 21. You have to be legal age in order to sign a contract and renting a hotel room constitutues signing a contract.

Your parents could rent a room or a suite for you. The cost of renting a suite or a ballroom in a hotel would vary from one hotel to another. Some do have rooftop spaces for parties too. Your parents would have to check with each individual hotel to see what rooms, suites and facilities are available and the prices.

Perhaps your parents can reserve a hotel ballroom for your party and afterward you and your guests can simply go to your homes to rest.

Your parents can check out hotels in all areas of L.A. on this site.

It depends on how fancy you want to get. As a very rough ballpark figure it could be anywhere from $2,500 to $25,000 for renting a Hotel's rooftop, or Ballroom. But you may fine some at less fancy hotels in the Under $1000 range. You also need to figure extras. One is that most hotels will then also require you to purchase their Catering(or pay an additional fee for bringing in your outside food). That could be anywhere from about $50-$200 per person depending on the menu. Depending on how many people are staying over you may need a few rooms.

At a decent hotel, a room could be $300+/night, and suites would start at about $500+/night. Also, since you are under 18 you will most likely have to have at least 1 adult for every room you are booking. So you need to count the adults as to the total number of guests as well.

It depends on the hotel, size of venue (capacity of people it will hold), and day of the week. The weekends are much more expensive. Typically, a hotel rooftop that is used for people will be very expensive to rent on a weekend night, as you'd have to make up what they typically make there and they make a lot off of booze.

Unless your parents are friends with the manager or owner, it is very unlikely that they would rent a room for minors to sleep in, too much liability, they are concerned about underage drinking, pissed off fathers, etc. Suites generally range from $1000 to $10,000 a night.

Rooftop venues range from about $5000 for something grungy (one small icky unisex bathroom for big crowds, one downtown that is mostly used to shoot porn) to $100,000. Sometimes you will have to use the hotel caterer (or one they use) and there is a minimum per person food and drink charge. To give you a specific idea, the Sky Loft at the Haas Building in downtown LA (kinda icky neighborhood, nice apartments in the building) rented for about $12,000 plus food and drink, waitstaff, etc, which doubled the price. (Usually you can't avoid these extras for a decent venue.) Nice venue, indoor/outdoor, kitchen for caterer, I think the capacity was about 250, depending on sit down dinner or not.

Unless your parents are super rich, it's better to use big bucks towards your college education, and do something fun at a reasonable cost for a sweet 16. Even those who are eligible for needs-based financial aid don't get enough to cover their costs.

    Good luck!

It all depends, if you are interested in renting out a rooftop bar, you would have to rent the entire place, since you are underage. If you are there on a weekend, that could easily cost you $100,000 or more. Even at a not especially popular place you are probably looking at $25000 to start.

It costs TONS of money. It all depends on the hotel, but they all usually cost a ton of money.

And as for a room to sleep in? Don't count on it. Hotels do not rent to minors.
