No! The book is too explicit for a girl her age!

Considering it's soft core porn covering several flavors of BDSM...perhaps it's not the sort of thing she should be reading until she's a little older.

Or if her folks don't mind her reading that, then she might want to consider going on to reading "The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty" and the subsequent sequels which are a lot better written than 50 Shades.

Well I've read it when I was 12 and I had no idea what it was about, I went on wikipedia and it said erotic romance but i didn't know what it was. The sex was too detailed and it scared me to death and well I didn't get the whole BDSM thing. I read the whole series which left me confused and now I'm 13 but i don't really understand what it really was about but I did skipped all the sex part. I liked the happy ending though but honestly I'm scarred for life so no, She shouldn't read it

Depends on how your mind works. If you're very immature and you think that this book might affect your future, then no it is npt advisabe for you to read. Im twelve too. I started reading fifty shades since I was eleven, so last year, and I had no problem with also those sex words in the book.

I shouldn't be answering for 2 important reasons - 1. I haven't read the book [no intention in future either, especially after reading your comments & the review links posted by Billet-doux & kathyrn] And 2. Why waste precious time & effort on something "worthless".... Hence, my answer is limited to why I feel the book became a best-seller : 1. good, no Great, Labeling & Marketing. "mommy porn" [Personally, I think it is an insult to Mommies & women over 30] 2. social networking which allows promos to spread like wildfire. herd mentality. 3. associating the reading with Inclusiveness & some kind of literary-feminist status symbol. Peer pressure "what! you haven't read it?!!" and a low self-esteem individual immediately buys a copy & races through it .... BTW, that's medulla oblongata - imagine getting it wrong after all the presumed dictionary & thesaurus digging ;-))) @ Billet-doux -- that truly is a good review - the images had me chuckling ;-)

Is she mature enough to? 12 seems to young. She needs to wait until she's 16.

Haha its basically porn in a novel. It was written for women that are too fancy to watch porn but will read the crap out of it. What do you think?
