Question about pigeon care?
Hi. I have a five year old pigeon that lays eggs every 11 days then another egg two days later. She stopped eating her calcium and is getting deplete of calcium. There is virtually no shell. Please, does anyone have any advice? They are sterile eggs as well. Thank you! Your help is appreciated.

Giving them too many daylight hours will make them lay and breed alot. Try to give only natural daylight hours as it is fall and she would stop breeding or laying to molt.
Another way is to give her dummy eggs to sit on, Dummy eggs can be purchased at most pigeon supply websites or by calling and ordering.
Does she have a mate? Might as well let her breed 1-2 rounds per year.....unless she's not healthy to breed.

If you are taking those eggs away from her, quit! My male dove has such strong instincts I had to buy him wooden eggs to set on. He gets tired and stops setting after a couple of weeks. In the meantime it's peaceful when he sets. He is loose during the day since I work from home. I love him, but he is as mean as a snake....probably because I hand raised him. Will never do that again, at least not with a dove, unless I have to. I chose to feed this poophead.
