How do i make my parents stop coaxing me to go to church/confession?

Hello,

1) So long as they are giving food, shelter, rent, probably use of their car let alone saving to help pay for your post secondary education I would highly recommend you say little and just humor them along.

2) I can't see how one would get all choked up about confessing privately in a church. Look at all the public confessions we get on this forum through to Face Book for God's sake from guys who like to wear girl's underwear through what techniques and problems same sex couples use in reaming one another out.

Show them Lk 14:26 then ask if they hate their family and their own lives. Jesus said:

"If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple." - Luke 14:26

Ask them why they are members of a cult that demands they hate their own family.

You can't as long as you are living at home. Get emancipated by court order and go out on your own, and then you can make your own decisions.

Hate to break it to you, hon, but you're going to have to get a better excuse not to believe. Catholics, the ones who go to confession, don't believe that the earth is young. They accept scientific discoveries and do NOT take the bible literally.

It's nice that you respect your parents and admire them. Of course, they are the ones who raised you to be disrespectful and obnoxious, but that doesn't mean you have to act that way.
